"Bloom is an exploration of texture, growth, and decay conducted during the COVID-19 2020 lockdown in Melbourne.

Flowers are a momentary thing. These photos permanently hold them in a state of suspension during a period of accelerated hyperreal change. Where so much is overwhelming and chaotic, these portraits represent a moment of visual respite.

Breathe in.

Focus on the details.

The soft, velvetine weft of petal. The fibrous stalk connecting branch to stem to leaf. The dusting of pollen clinging to a curled arch.

Breathe out.

Begin again."
